Kenyans coffees has always been underrated therefore we would like to introduce this Kenya Kiandu as our first offering in our SINGLE O. line-up.

This Kenya Kiandu was purchased from our good friend at Falcon Coffees, based in Johor Bahru. They are grown by small holder farmers under the Mutheka Farmers Co-Operative Society hailing from Nyeri County. The beans undergo a wonderful washed process at the Kiandu Coffee Factory, located in the town of Tetu.

The Mutheka Co-Op was established in 2004, after a division from Tetu Coffee Growers Co-Op. The Mutheka consists of 6,000 small scale coffee growers that calls the beautiful Nyeri home, they are considered one of the largest co-operatives in Kenya.

After the washing process, the coffee cherries are dried on raised drying beds. The special characteristics and tastes comes from the alternative soaking in running water for up to 24 hours, which afterwards they are dried with frequent turning to ensure even drying.

This special AB lot produces a very clean and vibrant coffee. It is roasted to a medium light roast. Once brewed you can probably taste grapefruit upfront, blueberry sweetness, maple syrup tartness and sweet sweet finish.

This Kenya Kiandu is super duper sweet, I am currently drinking this coffee brewed in an April Dripper, and I cannot stop drinking it. Super juicy and sweet, nice and balanced.

Our go to recipe for this beautiful single origin Kenya Kiandu would be :

Input / Dose = 18grams

Output / Espresso = 240grams

Timing = 2:30 – 3:00 minutes

Dripper : Flat bottom dripper/April Dripper

Filter Paper : Kalita Wave 185

Water Temp : 92c

Bloom : 60gm to 50 seconds

2nd Pour : until 150gm and wait until 1:30 minutes

3rd Pour : until 240gm and wait until 3:00 minutes
